For various reasons, Vapaus sees a number of almost-new bike companions returned every year. Thanks to our Precycled program, these benefit bikes don’t end up waiting in storage – instead, they are inspected, refurbished and given a new life with new riders.

The story behind Precycled

Precycled by Vapaus was launched in 2021 from a simple belief: a good bike deserves a long, happy life on the road. Through the program and Precycled online store, high-quality used benefit bikes found new owners and kept rolling where they belong.

In 2026, it was time for a new chapter. Vapaus stepped back from operating the original Precycled online store, as the circular journey continues together with our trusted partner, Yeply.

Going forward, benefit bikes returned to Vapaus find their new happy owners through the Yeply Recycled online store. Yeply is an expert in bike servicing and circular economy bikes, ensuring that every good bike gets the continuation it deserves.

For Yeply, circular economy isn’t a side project – it’s a core part of what they do. Their goal is to keep as many bikes as possible in active use for as long as possible, without compromising on ride quality or reliability.

How the Precycled program works

Many benefit bikes are returned to Vapaus due to changes in work situations, life circumstances or simply because a leasing period comes to an end. These bikes are far from worn out – in fact, they’re often in excellent condition and ready for their next big adventure.

All bikes entering the program are professionally inspected and serviced to ensure they are safe and ready for their next owner.

Refurbished bikes are available through the Yeply Recycled online store. The selection changes regularly and includes different bike types for different needs.
