VAPAUS REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT

I’m proud to announce that Vapaus reaffirms its commitment to the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact in 2022.

The Global Compact is an important part of our corporate responsibility strategy through which we make a firm commitment to continually integrate principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption in our business strategy, culture and daily operations.

WHAT DOES THE GLOBAL COMPACT MEAN FOR US IN PRACTICE?

  • We ensure that neither our company nor our value chain participates in any form of forced or bonded labour
  • We actively promote ethical principles in our value chain

Environment

  • We focus all our product development on electric or human powered vehicles
  • We calculate and compensate our carbon footprint
  • We actively promote environmental sustainability in our value chains

  • We commit to producing zero landfill waste material caused by our operations

Anti- corruption

  • We evaluate business partners against potential corruption
  • We pay attention to not establish work roles that enable corruption
  • We mention “anti-corruption” and/or “ethical behaviour” in contracts with our business partners

We will continue to share our progress with the Global Compact regularly with our stakeholders in the future.

Proposed Changes to the Bike Benefit Tax Exemption in 2026

Edit: We will update this page whenever new information becomes available. June 3, 2025 – Together with several bicycle industry stakeholders, we have launched a joint citizens’ petition demanding that the employer bicycle benefit be maintained beyond 2025. Sign the petition here. What does this mean for our customers? The proposal would affect all employees and employers in Finland who use or offer the bike benefit. However, no changes have been made to the benefit at this stage, and it remains tax-free. It is likely that the benefit will remain tax-exempt at least until the end of 2025. In other words – nothing is changing right now, and no action is required from our customers.
