June 26, 2025 – Tax exemption for benefit bikes would be removed, transition period for existing agreements: In its recent announcement, the Ministry of Finance informs that the tax exemption for benefit bikes would be removed at the beginning of 2026. The change would apply only to new agreements that the employer and employee had committed to implementing on or after 24 April. It would not affect earlier agreements: benefit bikes agreed before 24 April 2025 would remain tax-exempt throughout the duration of the contract under the current tax rules. 🔗 Read the Ministry of Finance announcement (Finnish only).

Finnish employee bike benefit pioneer Vapaus has completed a EUR 10 million Series A funding round. This equity-based funding will support international expansion, software development, platform automation, and the growth of its unique PreCycled concept for the second-hand market of bikes.
